Wakehurst, part of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, is looking for Zero Hours Events Assistants to support our dynamic public programmes. This role is ideal for those who enjoy working with people, have a passion for delivering engaging experiences, and are comfortable with a physically active job in an outdoor environment.
An Enhanced DBS Check is required for this role.

As an Events Assistant, you’ll help deliver a wide range of public events and activities. From setting up infrastructure to welcoming visitors, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that each event runs smoothly and leaves a lasting impression. Your work will contribute directly to Kew’s mission of inspiring people to understand, value and protect the natural world.
We’re looking for individuals who are:
- Outgoing, enthusiastic, and visitor-focused.
- Comfortable with physical work and long periods standing.
- Strong communicators and natural team players.
- Flexible and hands-on in their approach.
- Confident working independently once briefed.
Additional Information
- Wakehurst is in a rural location with limited public transport. Please consider this when applying.
- Hours are offered on an as-needed basis to support our events calendar, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

The salary for this position is £25,164 per annum (pro rata) [Band A]
