Arborist Apprentice (Wakehurst) Scheme 1
This is an exciting opportunity to undertake an Arborist Apprenticeship at the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew, based at Wakehurst in Sussex.
As an apprentice, you will join our arboricultural unit to learn about modern tree care in a dynamic botanic garden. Wakehurst has a unique landscape of cultural and historic importance and a diverse tree collection with specimens from around the world.

Requirements
- You will need to be a committed team player, instilling trust in your colleagues who will be relying on you.
- Have a deep interest in trees, this role is not just about tree surgery but is concerned with promoting tree health for our collections.
- Be able to commit to the full apprenticeship period of 2 years, have the right to work in the UK and be over 16 years old.
- Have a good head for heights, strength and preferably some climbing experience (not necessarily in trees).
- You must want to work out in all weathers and happy to wear safety equipment.
- Be new to arboricultural study, you must not have a level 2 diploma or above.
- GCSEs in English and maths (or equivalent) at grade C / 4 or above.
- You will be keen to study in your own time, undertake assignments and prepare for examinations.
Interviews will take place on 8 July.

The salary for this position is £24,535 per annum [Apprentice Grade]
